Publications on the history of the institute

Renaming of the Institute of Geophysics and Geology to the Institute of Earth System Science and Remote Sensing.

Following the appointment of Professors Feilhauer, Mahecha and, together with Professor Peng (Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ), the institute has been given a new thematic focus. The aim is now to better understand the interactions of the various spheres in the Earth system and, above all, to record them using remote sensing methods.

The new Earth System Data Science & Remote Sensing degree programme is also geared towards this overarching vision.
