Abstract

In my research, I deal with the structural composition and power of (audio-)visual media such as maps, photographs, films and video games from a social constructivist geographical perspective. In addition, I investigate how the results of this research can in turn be used for the (playful) audience-oriented transfer of knowledge in response to the major challenges of the 21st century (keyword: transformative geographical education). In my teaching, I try to incorporate both aspects from a research-oriented perspective.
